Exploration Commitment on Tendering Geothermal Working Area

Jakarta, inaga-api.or.id - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has issued Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 37 Year 2018 on the Offering of Geothermal Working Areas, Geothermal Permit and Geothermal Exploitation.
 
This new regulation related to geothermal working area tender schemes, one of the points in the new regulation is related to the investor's obligation to attach exploration commitments in following the auction. 

Under this regulation , exploration commitments of at least US $ 10 million for capacity development of Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) is greater than or equal to 10 Mega Watt (MW). Meanwhile, exploration commitments are set at least US $ 5 million for the development of PLTP capacity smaller than 10 MW.

In addition, this regulation also regulates the assignment of geothermal concession to Public Services Agency/State Own Enterprises (BLU/BUMN). This is one of the breakthrough policies in the implementation of geothermal based on Government Regulation No. 7/2017.
 
This MEMR regulation also aims to provide certainty on the criteria of geothermal working area that can be assigned and the procedure of assignment to BLU/BUMN so that it is expected to keep the investment climate in geothermal development in Indonesia
